It’s almost that time again as we get “Back to our Roots” at the 2020 Alafia River Rendezvous. We are very excited about the line up of events we have planned for you this year. There will be a variety of musical entertainment, seminars, demonstrations and traders. Of course, there is always one of our many shooting programs, from black powder, archery or hawk and knife competitions for you to partake in. As always, we look forward to sitting around campfires making memories with old and new settlers and getting “Back to our Roots”.
Just a few items to review before you arrive:
Household pets are NOT allowed in the PRIMITIVE camping area. The only exception is service animals per ADA rules/regulations and Florida Statute 413.08. Please make arrangements for your pets care in advance of attendance. However, if you are camping in the MODERN area pets are allowed with rules that apply. Please read the attached rules and regulations regarding pets in the MODERN camping area only.
Remove all vehicles and trailers to the parking lot after you have set up your camp during early arrival and set up time. We need to keep the roads as clear as possible to accommodate another campers’ arrival and set up. The encampment will turn primitive Friday Evening, January 17th at 5:00 pm. All trailers, vehicles and RVs/campers must be out of the primitive area by 5:00 pm on this date.
Those participants who arrive between Saturday, the 18th and Wednesday, the 22nd, are required to unload their vehicle and remove the vehicle from the primitive area BEFORE setting up their camp.
For those participants who need to leave before Sunday, the 26th, you will need your camp to be completely down and packed. Contact the Governor or Marshall of your territory so they can verify, and the governor will alert the Stockade Gate that you are ready to drive your vehicle in. You will then have one hour to load and be out of the primitive area.
On the dates of January 23rd, 24th and 25th you can only drive into the primitive encampment between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. and must be out by 8:00 a.m. The same procedures apply.
See you at the Alafia!
